"Okay, a little bit about Paulo Coelho and the Warrior of the Light. On its surface, it's an easy read. However, to truly understand the life lessons that Coelho is outlining takes thought and soul searching. I am going through for the third time, reading one of the short chapters, and then determining how to best apply Coelho's words to my life. Definitely a worthwhile investment in terms of the money, the time, and the energy. A wonderful life learning tool."

- Okay, a little bit about Paulo Coelho and the Warrior of the Light. On its surface, it's an easy read. However, to truly understand the life lessons that Coelho is outlining takes thought and soul searching. I am going through for the third time, reading one of the short chapters, and then determining how to best apply Coelho's words to my life. - After reading Manuscript Found in Accra (which was absolutely mind blowing and a must read in my opinion), I came across this book at a book store and flipped through it.
Once again, I hit upon a simple read with pearls of thought and contemplation that staggered my senses. This book is more a collection of thoughts than a cohesive story and I found myself lost in them.
Many times I would stop reading after just one page left in awe contemplating what I had just read and how the lesson within the text applied to me.
If you're a fellow student of life and search for a deeper understanding and meaning to your time on this planet, then I highly recommend this book. I'm confident your experience will be similar to mine! - Probably a generous four stars here, but it is well written, and full of good advice. And a bit of a spoiler that was at the end of the book that might have better been placed at the beginning the meat of the book consists of a series of articles published over a three year period.
The book starts and ends with a shell of a story, but nothing more than a shell is given. It's like returning to The Alchemist, but instead of creating a parable to teach a series of truths about life, Coelho just puts his maxims out there. And they're good maxims, but it's not nearly as charming when it's just good advice for living.
In the end, it's worth checking out, and it's a quick read - just don't look for rich storytelling. I suppose the value in it is that Coelho is giving you direct advice for living your own story. - Great author with amazing insight. I recommended this to one friend, loaned to another and purchased for my son. Quotes equally from several spiritual leaders of different beliefs offering wisdom without condemnation. Loved this book.
- My first book by this author and I'm sorely disappointed. The prologue is far more interesting than the main text, so much so that I'm having to force myself to continue reading it in hopes of finding nuggets of inspiration somewhere.
After reading about this author, and reading blog posts about him, with quotes from his writings, I was hoping for so much more from this little book.
I consider it the little book that couldn't- inspire me to read more of it! - Its really a manual for life. I recommend a first read, then you read and make notes so that you can put theory into practice.
- This book is not your typical Paulo Coelho novel. Each page is more akin to a statement. But it is done in such a beautiful way - that you will find yourself taking each page and wanting to write about your own experiences and thoughts and ideas that go hand in hand whit whatever page you have just read. Paulo Coelho is a brilliant author and from this book - he is in tune with the world as we now know it and as we once knew it - and finds a way to take the good from both to make us believe in ourselves and our ideas and how to navigate this world that we live in.
- The books in my personal library can be rated by the number of post it tabs. The more sticky notes, the better the book! I find this a keep by the chair type book to read in bits and pieces as the mood strikes. It appears not to be a straight through reader. Read, absorb and move on until another day. And yes, lots of sticky notes have been placed in this book. It is just as described--short notes on accepting failure, embracing life, and rising to your destiny--if nothing else, it brings inquisitive thinking to the frontline. Take what you can relate to and leave the rest.
